Writing
I am always open for writing commission pitches, and will usually accept unless the idea contains objectionable content or I am unfamiliar with the subject.
Writing commissions have a base rate of $2 per 100 words. Much of what I write is around 2,000 to 4,000 words, or $40 to $80.
How it works
Once a pitch is accepted, I will work with the commissioner to create an outline for the story to follow. Then, I’ll write the first section for the commissioner to review, to ensure it’s headed in the right direction.
Once that’s approved, I’ll send the invoice and continue work once payment is received. The commissioner will then receive a first draft of the completed story to review and offer suggested edits. I will also review the story for errors.
After any necessary edits have been made, I’ll send the final draft of the story. Beyond this point, I will make fixes to spelling and grammatical errors, but I will not make broader changes to the narrative.
I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any time, for any reason, and refund the commissioner the amount paid minus the cost of work completed. (I have never had to cancel a commission, but the possibility exists, however remote.)
Art
If you’re interested in my artwork, I’m flattered! But I’m not open for art commissions yet.
On rare occasions, I may agree to take an informal commission if a mutual reaches out with an idea that piques my interest. As with writing commissions, I will usually not accept an idea that includes objectionable content or a subject with which I am unfamiliar.
There will be rare occasions when I offer free art as part of a raffle or study through social media. Those will typically be posted on BlueSky or Mastodon.
I also participate in ArtFight each July.
