Minty slouched against a wall just off-stage as their coworkers held a press conference that would be watched by millions, if not billions across the globe.
For the past few weeks, people around the world had suddenly begun growing to enormous sizes with no apparent rhyme or reason. Some were gentle and wholesome; others weren’t, posing a significant threat to world security. Countless cities had already been decimated.
Today, for the first time, some of the giants appeared in London. And while their rather lewd actions were horrifying to the general populace, it had at least represented a turning point of sorts, as for the first time, scientists — in the lab where Minty worked — pinpointed one of the causes of the sudden growth.
“Good evening, and thanks for coming,” said the lead scientist, a white-and-gold female dragon. “I’ll jump right into my findings. I’ve discovered a mutation in the DNA of the people who have experienced rapid growth that predisposes them to such an outcome. Every subject whose DNA we were able to test has this mutation.”
Typical that she would take all the credit, using words like “I” when there were dozens of scientists on the team. It had been Minty’s suggestion that the condition may be genetic; not only that, but the spearmint-colored magpie had been on the team doing the dirty work, collecting DNA samples such as sexual fluids from the macros who had laid waste to London.
But of course the dragon got to be the lead and present the findings because she was eye candy. Minty rolled their eyes. They were too timid to talk back and argue that, yes, their credentials were better than the dragon’s! And, hell, they were a pretty bird, too. But it was the dragon on the stage in front of the world, not them.
“I’ve also found that being near another person with this mutation makes it more likely for the mutation to activate, triggering the rapid growth,” the dragon continued. “Moments of extreme emotion may also trigger the growth, but more research is needed. In the meantime, my team is busy preparing genetic testing to determine who has the mutation. The more information we have, the more we can mitigate this threat. Now, any questions?”
Minty had heard enough. They would rather resume work on the tests in the lab than listen to the dragon blather on, so the magpie headed back to their workspace.
Minty had actually taken a test earlier, and the results were just about ready to come back in. The magpie finished the final steps of the process and waited for their computer to return the outcome.
Positive.
Minty’s eyes widened. Was the mutation in their DNA as well?
A fellow scientist reading over their shoulder, a male Doberman who was known in the lab for getting into everyone’s business, gave them a playful slap on the back. “I don’t think there’s anything to worry about,” he said. “You’re so quiet and nice, I can’t imagine you turning into some sort of scary giant.”
Minty wasn’t listening. Their heart was beating a million miles an hour as they processed this new information. It felt like it was about jump out of their chest.
Then, suddenly, the magpie shot upward, experiencing the very same rapid growth they’d spent the last several weeks studying!
Beakers and lab equipment clattered against the ground and shattered as the bird’s growing body swiftly filled the room. Startled technicians and scientists fled the room as it became clear the expanding magpie would soon flatten anyone and anything left inside.
One researcher, however, never had a chance to escape, finding himself directly underneath the magpie’s heavy paws as they swelled larger and larger: the Doberman.
“Nothing to worry about, eh?” Minty teased. They grinned as they saw how helpless this imbecile was below their feet. “Yeah, that’s where you belong. Under my toes.”
Minty, quiet and timid before, had found their voice. And more than that, they found that they took real joy from tormenting the trapped Doberman, exerting more and more unbearable pressure while they gleefully watched him struggle.
Their playtime was short-lived, as Minty soon broke through the ceiling of the building and discovered themself towering over the surrounding area. From here, they were just a few short steps away from the building where the press conference appeared to have just finished. Reporters leaving the building gawked and took photos of the enlarged magpie, but the bird paid them no attention, having just one person on their mind.
“Minty!” the dragon yelped as she stepped outside and looked up at the hundred-meter tall magpie. “Wh—”
Her voice was cut off as the magpie snatched her up in one enormous fist and gave her a cruel look. “You’re being reassigned within the team,” Minty taunted. “I know just where you belong.” The magpie ran a finger along their slit, shuddering with pleasure, then spread their pussy’s lips wide enough for them to insert the dragon.
The once-proud scientist kicked and thrashed, but only succeeded in drawing out deep moans from the magpie, who shoved their prey in deeper and began to finger themself in full view of the reporters, enjoying a sense of powerful domination they’d never felt before.
Another cruel smirk curled across Minty’s beak. If those journalists didn’t stop invading the magpie’s privacy soon, they had plenty of ideas about what to do with them…
